About Us

Washington Square Arts & Films is a production and management company with offices in New York and Los Angeles that produces feature films, television commercials and live theater. In addition, the company manages the careers of actors, writers, directors, and composers for the stage and screen. The Theatrical Booking department books Live Performances and Public Readings & Lectures.

Current and recent projects from the Film Division include Old Joy, directed by Kelly Reichardt and photographed by Peter Sillen, which premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. The New York Times said the film is a “must see… one of the finest American films of the year,” and the LA Times called it “exquisite… achingly beautiful.” Other film projects include Spalding Gray: The Last Monologue, a film about the late Spalding Gray, directed by Steven Soderbergh; 2007 Sundance Film Festival official selection, Adrift In Manhattan, staring Heather Graham, Billy Baldwin, and Victor Rasuk, directed by Alfredo De Villa; and Billy Strayhorn: Lush Life, a feature-length musical documentary by Emmy Award-winning director, Robert Levi, about Duke Ellington’s longtime co-writer and arranger.

The Commercial Division represents directors Peter Sillen (Benjamin Smoke, Speed Racer); Tom Schiller (“Saturday Night Live”); Braden King (Dutch Harbor, Thrill Jockey); Randy Hackett; Bob Balaban (The Exonerated); Liev Schreiber (Everything is Illuminated); George Ratliff (Joshua); Tim Greenberg (“The Daily Show With Jon Stewart”); Carolina Zorrilla De San Martin; Miguel Jaramillo; and George Pelaez. Recent commercial projects include Apple, Starwood Resorts, Sharp Electronics, Vonage, Miller Beer, Delta Airlines, Intel, ESPN, Pepsi, Volvo, Sony, H&R Block, and PDFA, among others.

On the Talent Management side, Washington Square Arts manages the feature film and television careers of actors such as Dulé Hill (“Psych”, “The West Wing”); Kerry Washington (The Last King of Scotland, The Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer), Jennifer Esposito (Crash, “Samantha Who?”) Victor Rasuk (Lords of Dogtown, Raising Victor Vargas), and Sarita Choudhury (Lady in the Water, The Accidental Husband), as well as writer/directors such as Nicole Kassell (The Woodsman).

The Theatrical Division manages the careers of playwrights, composers, and stage directors, as well as books public readings, lectures, and live performances for artists such as Nick Hornby, Dave Eggers, Eric Bogosian, Danny Hoch, and Lauren Weedman, among others.
