Variety Reviews Antonio Campos’ CHRISTINE

Published 01.28.2016

Washington Square Films’ Antonio Campos premiered CHRISTINE at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews. The film explores the psychological breakdown of Christine Chubbuck, a 29-year-old news reporter who commited suicide on national television in 1974. Variety’s Guy Lodge notes that CHRISTINE is “a thrumming, heartsore, sometimes viciously funny character study, sensitive both to the singularities of Chubbuck’s psychological collapse and the indignities weathered by any woman in a 1970s newsroom.”
